Rubber
Synthetic rubber is any of a group of man-made elastomers that approximate one or more of the properties of natural rubber (polyisoprene).
Divinylbenzene has been used in Styrene-Butadiene copolymers (SBR) as adhesives and as processing aids in the extrusion of general-purpose rubbers to:
- Lower operating costs
- Permit faster extrusion rates
- Improve surface processability
- Lower shrinkage
- Improve dimensional stability
Rubbers used as impact modifiers such as Methacrylate-Butadiene-Styrene (MBS) that include Divinylbenzene display:
- Improved heat resistance
- Improved weather resistance
